I’ve been looking forward to this box for ages. After I heard that GlossyBox were going to be collaborating with the Beauty Director of Red Magazine, I knew this box would be a good one. And it didn’t disappoint, either.
1. Rodial Smoky Eye Pencil (RRP £17.00) – I love khol eye pencils, and definitely prefer to create a smoky eye with them over a liquid liner or gel. And this seems like a great product. When I tried it, it was super creamy and would be great to blend and smudge to create the perfect smoky eye.
2 Revlon Colourstay Hel Envy Diamond Top Coat (RRP £7.99) – I love painting my nails and having them look nice, but I’m not the best at using top coats to prolong the wear. I put a single coat on top of my polish, and as of yet there are no chips or sign of wear. I can usually get a good 3 days before they start to chip, so I’ll have to see if this improves with use. It had made the nail polish look shiny and salon-worthy, though; almost like having a gel manicure. Hopefully they last as long as the real thing.
3. Vitamasques Hydro Face Mask (RRP £7.99) – I do love a good face mask. Especially the sheet masks as they’re so easy and fuss free. This one is Korean inspired, and aims to hydrate the skin for up to 120 hours. I love it when face masks make my skin feel silky smooth for days after I’ve used them, so I hope this one feels as good as it sounds!
4. Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara (RRP £19.00) – This was probably the product I was most excited about. I’ve never tried any Too Faced products (although I have admired them from afar for a long while) and I’ve heard nothing but rave reviews about this mascara. Designed to thicken and lengthen lashes, beauty bloggers have always backed this product as one of the best on the market, and I have to say I’m impressed so far. After one small coat my lashes looked noticeably longer, and this lasted through most of the day. I might just have to get a full sized product, too.
5. The Organic Pharmacy Antioxidant Lip Balm (RRP £12.00) – I was a little disappointed to receive this. As I subscribe to Elle Magazine UK, this is a frequent freebie and I’ve already got several. That said, they are a good lip balm as they contain Vitamin E, so always leave my lips feeling smooth and flake free. It also isn’t sticky like other lip balms, so doesn’t cause me to lick my lips all the time. A recommended product overall, but not necessarily something I particularly wanted.
MUA Eyeshadow Palette (Heaven & Earth, RRP £4.00) – This was something I was supposed to receive last month, but due to a mix up I received the wrong one so GlossyBox included it in this months box instead. And I love it. It contains a great range of brown and gold eye shadows, with a great mix of matte and shimmer shadows. I really like the MUA palettes, and have been impressed with the pigmentation of the ones I own so far. This one looks like it’s going to be a welcome addition to my palette collection.
The Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask (sample size, full size RRP £15.00) – I already have the Amazonian Acai mask, and a sample of the Honey mask, so was very excited to have a third sample of this brilliant range. I haven’t tried this one yet, but I just know based on the other two that this will be a definite future purchase. The Body Shop have got some great ranges here, and each of the masks in the collection are absolute necessities in my opinion.
