September Favourites 2016

My apologies for the lateness of this post. I’ve been putting off writing it because I genuinely couldn’t think of anything that I’ve been particularly loving this month, that I haven’t already mentioned in previous posts.

I didn’t want to just churn out any old thing and try and pass it off as my favourite, so I took a little longer to think about what I’ve genuinely loved using, no why I’ve enjoyed it so much.

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara – I’ve never owned a Too Faced product before, and I’ve heard endless wonderful things about this mascara, so was giddily excited to receive one in last months GlossyBox. I firmly like this mascara. It gives great definition, volume and length to lashes, something that is difficult to find in a single product. I’ve only got a sample sized product, so no doubt at the rate I’ve been using it it’s probably almost gone, and when it does I will definitely repurchase. I don’t usually spend a fortune on mascara as they don’t last long, but this is worth investing in.

Nars Duo Eyeshadows, shade Isolde I only ever use this in Autumn, and every single year I fall in love with it. I know you can find similar shades with other brands, but I return to this every single time. I just love the colour contrast between the dark and light gold tones. It’s super pigmented and the colour payout is great. I think this product has since been discontinued; I’ve looked on various websites to try and repurchase but had no luck finding it. MAC do some similar shades, so all is not lost, but for the moment this remains a firm Autumn favourite.

Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream – I know this can be a bit of a love/hate product because of the scent, but personally it doesn’t bother me. I think this is one of the best beauty inventions ever! I use it for everything: chapped lips, dry skin, cracked heels, sunburn, bites etc. It is seriously the most versatile product I own. I’ve been doing quite a bit of walking lately with my son, and I’ve found that I’ve started to get dry and cracked heels because of constantly being on my feet. I just lather this stuff on, pop on a pair of cotton socks and let it soak in overnight. In the morning – completely gone. It is quite pricey but so completely worth it; a little goes a long way.

Stranger Things – Netflix – I watched this recently with my husband because people we know have recommended it as one of the best things they’ve seen in a while, and I have to say I completely agree. For those who don’t know, it a throwback to 80s sci-fi films, and is about a small town where a boy goes missing one night. His friends and family search for answers behind his disappearance, with conspiracy theories leading to a top secret Government facility where strange experiments might be the root cause of these strange occurances.

It is only a short series (always a blessing in my eyes!) but after the first 15 minutes you’ll be completely hooked!

Tartan Print – I’ve been loving tartan this past month. It’s actually all I’ve been wearing. I have a couple of tartan shirts and a dress, and they are so relaxed and casual, but warming and smart looking. Perfect for the chilly mornings. I like to throw the shirts on over a plain white t shirt and jeans, and the dress looks great with black leggings and knee-high boots. I’ve got a tartan scarf too, from Next, and it’s so soft and snug, especially great with a leather jacket.

That’s all for my favourites this month! Let me know in the comments what you’ve been loving, and please share this post if you enjoyed it.

Love and hugs to you all xx
