The Dupe List: Nars Orgasm

As much as I love buying High End makeup, I absolutely love it when I can find a High Street dupe that saves a ton of money, yet doesn’t skimp on the quality of the original product I loved.

Nars Orgasm is one of those cult products that everyone either owns, or wants due to Beauty Bloggers and Gurus who rave about how wonderful it is. Coined as the ‘Universal blush’ suitable for all skin colours, it is a lovely pink hue with a rose gold fleckle running through it. And don’t get me wrong, it IS a great product to have in your collection, but the initial lay down of £23.oo is steep for a mere 4.8g of product, especially if you’re a student or relying on parents to pay for it. Hell, I’m an adult with a full-time job and even my eyes watered at having to pay this much for one product!

What I’ve done is compiled a list of product I have in my collection, or have seen in other shops, that are a near identical match for Orgasm. I’ve also included some Higher End alternatives that, whilst not necessarily cheaper, I feel you get more product for the money you pay initially (Lets face it, the Nars Blush isn’t that big a pan, nor is it particularly deep either). This way, if you are a High End junkie, you can have something a little more worth the money you pay, for the amount of product you receive.

HD Brows Blusher, in the shade Blusher 2 (RRP £17.00, – This is a lovely dusky pink hue with that same rose gold shimmer as Orgasm, except this is a lot bigger for the money you pay!

It is quite pigmented, and when first applied comes across as a lot more pink toned on the skin, but as it is blended away it creates that same healthy flush of colour that we all love about Orgasm. It claims to last for 24 hours, but I’ve not worn my makeup long enough to test this; however, I can say that it lasted all through a 9 hour work day, and still looked as fresh as the moment I applied it. You also get a whopping 12g for the money you pay, which is a far better amount compared to Orgasm!

One downside is the size of the packaging, which is a lot more bulky and ‘plasticky’ compared to Nars, but I can overlook this for a saving of £6!

Bobbi Brown Illuminating Bronzing Powder in the shade Maui (RRP £30.00, – This is such a pretty shimmer pink gold shade and applies so flawlessly to the skin, you’re instantly left with a lovely sun-kissed glow.

This is slightly more pink toned that Orgasm, but the difference is so subtle on the skin, it’s a great dupe. This is also highly pigmented, so don’t go too overboard with the product! This product is designed to be a blush and highlighter in one, to add a pop of colour and a natural illumination in one, so you only need a light amount to start, and build up from there.

This is more expensive than the Nars one, but you get almost double the amount of product for only £7.00 more. At 9g per product and with such a large pan, this is bound to last you a long time, even with daily use. You also get a lovely sleek-looking compact and a large mirror too, so great for travelling.

Makeup Revolution Blush Palette in the shade Dream Blush (RRP £6.00, Superdrug) – I’m a big lover of these Makeup Revolution Blush palettes, and so many of their products can be used for High End Dupes, so I’m not surprised that there’s an Orgasm dupe here!

The shades in question are the bottom two shades in this palette. Granted, both are a lot more matte than Orgasm, but colour wise are a perfect match. The first is a pretty pink shade whilst the second is a slightly dusky rose shade. Both are creamy and pigmented, and are blendable and buildable to your perfect shade. They are a little more chalky than their Higher End counter parts, but at roughly 75p per pan are a complete bargain, and don’t skimp on the quality.

The entire palette weighs in at 13g total for 8 medium-sized pans (roughly 1.6g per pan) so you do get a lot less product than Orgasm, but for only £6.00 per palette for 8 beautiful shades, you can buy far more of these for the money!

Sleek Shimmer Blush in the shade Rose Gold (RRP £4.49, Superdrug) – This is coined as the ultimate dupe, and for good reason. It is a near identical match, with an almost perfect rose gold shade with a slight shimmer.

In terms of quality, it is of the same high standard that I find in all Sleek blushers. It is very easily blended away, and can be built up if you need more than a subtle flush of colour. It is very long lasting, not patchy in the slightest, and looks beautiful on the skin. If you’re looking for a single pan rather than a whole palette, then this is the one you need. At only £4.49 it is a complete bargain, and is definitely worth the money.

I hope you enjoyed this post, and some of the products mentioned here will be useful to you. As good as Nars Orgasm is, it is expensive to buy when there are near identical products that are either far cheaper, or more product for the price.

Let me know in the comments if you have any Orgasm dupes that could be included in this list, or if you have tried any of the products mentioned above!
