It’s almost Father’s Day, and time is running out to find the perfect gift. If your Dad is anything like mine, he doesn’t like to make a fuss over anything – but that doesn’t mean that he doesn’t care. Actually, my Dad loves to be the center of attention just like anyone else, he just doesn’t like to think we’ve gone to too much effort.
So, what should you get your Dad for Father’s Day? For mine, it’s simple; a couple of pints down the pub and a portion of chicken wings. I’m not even joking! My Dad is very easily pleased, and would love nothing more than the family going to the pub for lunch, having a few drinks and spending time relaxing. I even go all out and buy him some Thornton’s chocolates and a personalised plaque too. 😉
But, for anyone who puts an iota of thought into their gifts, here’s a selection of things you might want to consider:
The Beer Collection by Hotel Chocolat (RRP £10.00, Hotel Chocolat) – A bit of a step up from normal chocolates, why not merge my Dad’s two favourite things? Flavours include caramel stout, ginger beer and pale cocoa beer amongst others. Personally, I’m not sure how beer and chocolate mix, but apparently I’m wrong. It’s like having chilli and chocolate together, apparently: On paper it’s not meant to work, but in real life…. you get the point.
Ted Baker Brogue Leather Sunglasses Case (RRP £25.00, John Lewis) – This is a gorgeous little piece, that would be perfect to sit on your Dad’s desk at work, or in the glove compartment of his car. Available in both black and brown, the leather is very soft and supple, and the blue felt lining a nice little touch. I especially like the triangular shape it has. If not a glasses case, it might be a funky little pencil case, too.
For Fox Sake Ceramic Mug (RRP £12.00, notonthehighstreet.com) – I think this is a funny gift that only a Dad will appreciate. It’ll lighten his mood at work, but will bring a smile to his face when you make him a brew in this.
Personalised Italian Leather Card Holder (RRP £41.00, notonthehighstreet.com) – I love using my card holder, and to receive something like this would be such a special gift. The personalised initials make it feel more luxurious, and Italian leather is always a nice touch.
Sony Playstation Virtual Reality Headset (RRP £349.99, Argos) – This is something I know my Husband would love to receive!! Any Dad is going to get instant points with kids if he’s got this lying around!
Let me know what you’re going to be buying the special men in your lives for Fathers Day!
