My Travel Bucket List for 2018

One of my New Years Resolutions for 2018 is to try and travel a little more, and visit places I’ve always wanted to go to. Welcome to Blogmas Day 19!

Travelling is one of those things that I always wanted to do, but never got the chance. I was going to take a Gap Year after completing my PGCE, but I met my Husband so that got put on the back burner, and it’s near enough impossible to find the motivation to do it after being in work and earning a steady income. Now, I’m 6 years out of Uni and have a house and Son, so it’s been put back even further.

My plan now is to try and visit as many places as I can, whilst I’m young enough to be able to do so. I can’t obviously go as frequently as I’d like to – having to travel during the very expensive school holidays definitely puts a dampener on things – but at least it’s a start.

Eventually, I’m hoping that as our children get older, and we start to go on holidays alone I can go to the places I’ve always wanted to go. And when I everntually retire (A while away but you have to think of these things!) I plan to go away every few weeks!

Until then, I have an ever-expanding list of places I would like to visit, which I thought I’d share with you today!

  1. New York
  2. Las Vegas (both of these places I’m planning to visit for my Husband and my 40th birthdays. It’s about 12 years away, but it’s the only time I can forsee us actually doing it properly!)
  3. San Francisco
  4. Canada
  5. Hawaii
  6. Maldives
  7. Mauritius
  8. New Zealand
  9. Iceland
  10. Rome
  11. Venice
  12. Paris (I’ve already been once before, but would love to go back!)
  13. Berlin
  14. Thailand
  15. Amsterdam
  16. Prague
  17. Croatia
  18. Disneyland, Florida
  19. Sri Lanka
  20. Jamaica
  21. Aruba
  22. Miami

This is an ever expanding list, so I can guarantee there will be more places added over time!

Let me know in the comments where you would like to go, or alternatively if there’s a place that you would recommend to others!

  2. Some lovely places on this list! And plenty that are also on mine, though that’s not difficult because I want to go basically everywhere. One of the reasons I’ve not settled down yet is because I love travel, I don’t know how I’d cope with a family! You’ve got plenty of time though, I’m sure you’ll get to see all these places over time. Hope you have a fantastic time when you do 🙂

  3. I think this is a lovely post filled with wonderful places! I can’t wait for you to go and talk on your experiences. I’ve been to a few and I can definitely vouch for the awesomeness that is DisneyLand Florida! Lol just brace yourself for the humidity and crowds. NY is nice with all of the museums and land marks to visit. Best of luck! 🙂
