Empties #1

It goes without saying that I go through a lot of products through the course of making this blog. Products that I’ve tested for research purposes, tried and tested old favourites that have been repurchased multiple times, and products I’ve used a handful of times but not really gotten on with.

I’ve been saving these empty or mostly used products in a box for a while now, with the intention of doing a reverse haul/decluttering/favourites post combined. I’d say these products have been used during the winter months, so probably from around the November/December time.

Garnier Skin Active Micellar Cleansing Water
I’ve had this product multiple times in the past, and it remains my absolute Number 1 when it comes to micellar water. Usually I go for the Green bottle – which is aimed at oily/combination skin – but this supersize bottle was on offer so I snapped it up. I can’t say I’ve noticed a difference between my usual Green bottle and the Pink (sensitive skin), but I will continue to use this regardless.

Will I repurchase? Already have. Multiple times!

OGX Biotin and Collagen Shampoo and Conditioner
I’ve always seen this particular brand in Boots, but as they’re always quite pricey I’ve never really bothered to buy them. When I was shopping in November, they were on offer – 2 for £10.00 – so I brought the pair. In hindsight, I can see why they are slightly more than other shampoos and conditioners; with OGX, you get 385ml of product in each bottle compared to the usual 250/300ml you get with other products. And I have to say, I’ve been really impressed with this shampoo. My hair is usually quite soft but I do find that it can get a little dry at the ends, especially as it is colour treated and usually blow dried/straightened/curled with heat appliances. The added Biotin and collagen help to hydrate and protect, making your hair look a lot thicker and healthier.

Will I repurchase? Absolutely. I’ve already brought another offering from the brand, although couldn’t get this particular one. Instead, I went for the Argan Oil one instead.

Kiehls Powerful Wrinkle Reducing Eye Cream
I wrote a post about this cream here, when I had been using it for a month or so. And on the whole, I have to agree with what I wrote on it. It did a great job at smoothing my under eye area, and I definitely noticed a reduction in the appearance of fine lines. The only sticking point is the cost, as £39.99 is incredibly expensive compared to other products available.

Would I repurchase? Possibly, although I do think it is an expensive product to buy. I’m using an eye cream I brought from Beauty Pie at the moment, for a fraction of the price, so I’ll have to see whether I can justify the cost for the Kiehl’s product again if there are similar products already.

Rapidlash Eyelash Enhancing Serum
I’ve seen a number of larger Beauty Bloggers talking about Revitalash serum to help with strengthening and lengthening eyelashes, but there is no way in Hell I’d spend £110 on it! After doing a bit of research, I found this equivalent product on Amazon for £15 in the sale. It’s their number 1 rated product, with over 65% 5 star reviews. I don’t want to go into too much detail as I have a more detailed blog post in the works, but I really liked the effect I had from it. I’ve not quite finished the tube (there’s still a tiny bit left), but I’d say a tube lasts around 3 months when used everyday.

Will I repurchase? YES.

Keep an eye peeled for any future empty posts as and when I have enough to talk about! Let me know what you’ve been using lately!
