This year marks the fourth Blogger Secret Santa I’ve been a part of, and I think it’s a great way of meeting and interacting with new bloggers, making friends and showing a little festive spirit.
This years Secret Santa may have been fraught with awkward-ness and drama, but it hasn’t dampened the spirit of those that remained till the end. I’ve met some truly lovely ladies this year, and wish them all the health, happiness and love for 2019.
First of all, a massive THANK YOU is in order to Casey, who organises this each year and does a fantastic job. I’m sure it’s extremely difficult to co-ordinate 50 different people and ensure that everyone gets a gift on time, but she does a cracking job.
Basically, the way this works is all online through Elfster. You register your interest, and create a wish list of things you either want of have an interest in. From there, you are allocated another member of the group to buy for and have access to their wish list. Your name is also allocated to another and they can see your wish list. Easy peasy!
I was issued Claire, AKA Steel City Miss, and you should check out her blog!
I’ll reveal who brought for me at the end of the post.
NYX Matte Setting Spray
And we’re off to a winner! I love a good setting spray! I’ve never tried any of the NYX ones, but I have several of their primers and love them, so I’ve no doubt I’ll love this one too. And a matte finish is always a good thing for me because of my combination skin.
Simple de-stress sheet mask
Sheet masks are a really favourite of mine; I use them on a regular basis. And even though I buy nearly all of mine from the High Street, I didn’t know Simple did sheet masks! I love Simple skincare; their products are so soothing and never inflame or irritate my skin. And around Christmas time with all the rich foods it’s inevitable a breakout would be nigh, so this seems ideal. Also, as I have a three year old boy and 7 week old daughter, a de-stress is always needed!
Disney True Love’s Kiss Face Mask
Disney! And sheet masks! I don’t think there’s ever been anything more perfect! As this one contains Rose Water it’ll be perfect to have in a relaxing bath with a good book and nice cup of tea. And rose water is perfect for giving you a glowing complexion.
Papermania Metallic Pens
I’ve been making a real effort with my Bullet Journal lately, and plan on continuing that into 2019. I find that when I actively use it and spend time making it look nice I’m a lot more productive and organised. I’m also a bit of a stationary addict, so any excuse to try out new pens! These are a gorgeous set of metallic colours that I can use for headers; I love the fact they are like a proper felt pen tip as opposed to those where you have to press down to release the ink.
Overall, I’m incredibly happy with the gifts I received, and it’s clear the person who had me spent time reading my blog and paying attention to my wish list to buy items she knew I’d like. A massive thank you to Ellie, from The Diary of Ellie, for her thoughtful presents. I appreciate how much thought and consideration you put into everything. Wishing you every health and happiness for 2019!
